What
The Jira ticketing integration allows Ploy to create and update Jira tickets via API. Tickets will be two-way synced meaning any updates to the ticket in Jira will be reflected in Ploy, and any updates to the ticket in Ploy will be reflected in Jira.
This means that users can have full control over Jira tickets without ever leaving the Ploy platform - bringing you ever closer to that single pane of glass.
How
Step 1: Create an Admin Service Account in Jira (if you don’t already have one).
Step 2: On the Integrations page, navigate to the Jira integration and click on the ‘+ Add’ sign
Step 3: Click Authenticate and make sure you Authenticate with the Admin Service Account.
Step 4: Name the Connection and press ‘Next’.
Step 5: Select the Jira Cloud Site to integrate with.
Step 6: Select the projects you want to integrate with. Note: Keep in mind that any future projects will need to be added in to the configuration.
Step 7: Configure the Ploy → Jira field mappings. This is needed because Jira will always have at least as many field values as Ploy, and typically more.
Note: For Jira statuses that are not mapped in Ploy, these are automatically mapped based on the ticket status groups.
Step 8: Create a new Webhook in Jira. The ‘Docs’ hyperlink will take you straight to the page.
Step 9: Copy the Webhook URL from Ploy and paste it into the Jira URL field.
Step 10: Generate a Secret in Jira and paste it into Ploy.
Step 11: Copy the JQL Filter from Ploy and paste it into Jira.
Step 12: In Jira under ‘Issue Related Events’, select the Issue Updated, Issue Deleted and Comment Created checkboxes.
Step 13: Create the Webhook in Jira and Save the configuration in Ploy.
